Hamilton is unsurpassed when it comes to prime business location and accessibility. A dynamic and fast-growing urban centre that is home to Canada’s two largest integrated steel producers, Hamilton is situated half way between two international landmarks (Toronto and Niagara Falls). It boasts the best transportation infrastructure in Ontario.

To the northeast of the city, running along Lake Ontario, is the QEW or Queen Elizabeth Way, one of Canada’s most traveled highways, which originates in Niagara Falls and connects to the I90 in New York State. To the south of the city centre is the Linc or, Lincoln Alexander Parkway. Connecting the Linc and the QEW is the new Red Hill Expressway, which creates a quicker commute for those moving through Hamilton.

Another route through the city is Burlington Street to the north, which exits off the QEW and moves traffic through the industrial centre.

To the north, where the QEW becomes the 403, the 403 meets up with the 407 which is a new  toll highway that takes traffic through the communities of Burlington, Oakville & Brampton.

In In Toronto the QEW becomes the Gardener Expressway, an elevated highway along Toronto’s lake front that offers easy access to the many off ramps leading into the city’s centre. The QEW also bypasses Toronto at the 427, merging with the 401 and offering options of either east or west. Southwest of Hamilton, the 403 will take you to the international airport before continuing on to the 401 and connecting travelers with London and Windsor, the latter of which is a major point of entry into Canada.

The Port of Hamilton links the city to the St. Lawrence Seaway while providing direct connections to major highways and rail networks both in Ontario and the United States. The port is linked to two major Great Lakes shipping routes- the Welland Canal and the St. Lawrence River. The Port of Hamilton is Canada's busiest commercial Great Lakes port and crucial to the movement of domestic and international cargo around the world.
